One of my greatest pleasures is getting the opportunity to talk with the students and parents in our district. Take a moment to view our Superintendent's Student Forum page to meet the students who share their thoughts and ideas with me on a regular basis.
It is a very exciting time to be in education and I invite you to get involved in your child’s school in some capacity so that you, too, can share the excitement. We always need volunteers. You may contact your school’s Family Resource or Youth Service Center, or you may want to join the Parent Teacher Organization. There are always opportunities for you to be involved in School Council meetings and even committees, not to mention booster clubs for athletics and extra- and co-curricular activities. As I’ve said before, research studies consistently show that children whose parents are directly involved in their education perform at higher levels. I hope you’ll find your niche as a parent in your child’s school this year!
