Key Communicators Launch

As part of our on-going efforts to strengthen communication and school-community connections, JCS is excited to announce the launch of a Key Communicators Network. This dedicated team of parents, community members, and district personnel will serve as an informational link, providing feedback and guidance to facilitate our communications process.

What is a Key Communicator Network?

Key Communicators play a vital role in strengthening the bond between our school district and the community. By gathering insights, questions, and opinions from the community, they provide valuable perspectives that help shape district initiatives. Equally important, they share key information back with their networks, acting as trusted messengers who keep families and community members up-to-date with accurate and reliable information.

Why do we need a Key Communicator Network?

Effective communication thrives on a personal level, where dedicated individuals serve as key communicators, bridging our schools and community. A well-informed public empowers families and community members to actively support students and their schools, creating stronger bonds and trust within our district. This network of communicators plays a vital role in enhancing student outcomes by ensuring that our community receives clear, reliable, and accurate information that strengthens relationships and fosters the success of our students and schools.

Who is in this work group and how were they selected?

It's important to us to include as many voices and perspectives as possible in this work and we want our network to be representative of our community. For the initial meeting, parents were invited to participate based on suggestions from schools across our district. We also felt that it’s critical to include a community viewpoint and extended an invitation to several local citizens who have a good understanding of our school district and are actively involved in our community. From the school level, the group also includes two school administrators (one elementary and one secondary) and our secondary school social media/communications coordinators. Our Superintendent, a Jessamine County Board of Education representative, and Central Office administrators who work in district communications are also involved. See a list of current individual members and their roles below.

How can I get involved?

We invite those who want to contribute to our efforts to strengthen communication and school-community connections to join us. Please reach out to Superintendent Crum if you would like to be a part of this important work.
