❄️ Happy Traditional Snow Day! ❄️ We’d love to see how your family is making the most of this traditional snow day! This means all snow fun and NO NTI work! Need some fun-filled ideas to keep the snow day magic alive? Try one (or more!) of these snowy activities, then share a picture or video through JELV's Facebook page or sending an email to your child's teacher—we can’t wait to see the fun! ✨ Snowy Name Writing – Grab a stick or use your fingers to write your name in the snow. Can you try a friend’s name too? 🎨 Snow Color Mixing – Fill spray bottles with water and food coloring, then spray the snow to see what new colors you can create! 🎯 Snowball Toss – Set up a target (a bucket, hula hoop, etc.) and see how many snowballs you can land inside. ✂️ Indoor Snowflake Creations – Use paper and scissors to craft beautiful snowflakes and decorate your home with a winter wonderland touch. 📖 Hot Cocoa Storytime – Cozy up with a warm cup of hot cocoa and enjoy a winter-themed book together. ❄️ Stay warm, have fun, and don’t forget to share your snow day adventures with us! ⛄📸

Superheroes Literacy Fun at the Village was a great night. 410 family members, 57 teachers, and 13 community volunteers. Thanks to Half Price Bookstore at Fayette Place for the book donation, Southland Christian Church for the pizza and bottled water, JCPL for the superhero masks, Mindy's Jessamine School of Classical Dance for doing a dance station, and our amazing PTO for helping to make this a special night.

It's the 2nd Annual Little Sweethearts Valentines Dance! This daddy-daughter style dance is open to ALL family members with their young children. Bring the whole family, send the grandparents...whatever works for you and your little ones ❤ Last year we had over 80 couples join us to dance the night away. You do not want to miss it! Nominate an Outstanding Special Educator! Do you know a special education professional who goes above and beyond for their students? Consider nominating them for the Outstanding Special Educator of the Year award! This award recognizes an outstanding special education professional who works primarily with students with disabilities, including Special Education Teachers, Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Assistive Technology Specialists, Mobility Specialists, Instructional Resource Consultants, School Psychologists, Teachers of the Visually Impaired, and Teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. One winner will be selected from each school level (elementary, middle, and high school) by a district leadership committee. One of the three recipients selected will be named the JCS Overall Outstanding Special Educator of the Year and will represent JCS as the CKEC Educator of the Year.
