The Young Achievers program honors 8th graders in our community who serve as positive role models. Through an application and selection process we are proud of the following EJMS students who were selected as Young Achievers: Grayson Corman, Rush Sandlin, Olivia Cox, Livy Howard, Nora Pickerill, Grace Heffelbower, Arianna Valencia, Kayla Morfaw, and Sirena Lawson. Our 8th-grade health students are working on their personal and family values by building hexagon constellations. They are learning that their personal and family values shape their identity and contribute to their sense of purpose and connection, as well as their spiritual wellness. Tomorrow is High Attendance Day at East! Every student and teacher who is present will be entered into a drawing for a prize every hour on the hour. Plus, teachers with 100% attendance in homeroom will be entered into a special drawing for donuts. Let’s show up, Jaguars, and make it a day full of prizes and school spirit! 🐾💙💚

Auditions for our fall play, Alice In Wonderland, are next Monday and Tuesday from 4-5:30. Students should sign up to audition at the board outside of Mr. G's room. That board also contains all audition information and materials needed! Students should come to only 1 day of auditions, and should expect to read a pre-selected monologue and scenes from the show with their peers. Cast list will be posted next Friday morning, and rehearsals will start on Monday, September 15th.

EJMS Junior Beta Club is now accepting applications for new members! If you are passionate about leadership, character, achievement, and service, this club is the one for you. All grade levels are welcome to apply by submitting an application at bit.ly/ejmsbeta25 before September 22nd. Acceptance letters will be delivered later that week. Next week is Kentucky Safe Schools Week, and this morning some of our Sources of Strength Peer Leaders attended the Safe Schools Week Kick Off. This included a proclamation signing at JCTC Central with many of our Jessamine County community partners invested in the safety of our students. We are so thankful for those dedicated to school safety, and are so proud of our students for their efforts here at EJMS to make our school a safer and better place each day! #proudtoroar

Coach Pitney is excited for our new season of basketball to start! Tryouts have not been set yet, but we wanted to share some Open Gym dates to get our players ready! Students must have a current physical uploaded in Final Forms to participate in Open Gym and to tryout. Need a physical? Make sure to check out our Healthpoint School Clinic, which will be on Mondays from 12:30-3:30! Please ask the front office for Healthpoint forms to sign up.
