Graduate Profile Attribute of the Month: Work Ethic!
Throughout the month of September EJMS is highlighting this essential pillar of our Graduate Profile, as we work side-by-side with our students to help them develop skills that expand well beyond our walls.
Students have a chance to be recognized as one of our Students of the Month by demonstrating strong work ethic all month long!

If students entered the building with a bit more swag in their step, we aren't saying it's because of the positive messages canvasing our walkways, but we're not not saying that either. 😎
For 988 Day, our EJMS Ambassadors and Sources of Strength peer leaders led the charge to promote mental wellness, break the stigma against mental health, and share vital crisis support resources.
Their positive chalk messages outside, messages of encouragement that were handed out, and work directing students to crisis support resources in our classroom hallways all serve as an important reminder that mental health matters!
We, as a community, can continue to strive to have each other's backs and be the light that reminds one another that "YOU MATTER!" 🐆💙💚

The tourists and jungle explorers were out in full-force for the third day of Spirit Week at EJMS!☀️🌴🐆
Socks with sandals, endless requests for directions, shocklingly bright button ups, and countless photos taken on disposable cameras made this one a memorable one, for sure!
While we figure out how to get the smell of sunscreen out of the building, make sure to get your best EJMS gear ready for tomorrow's Jaguar Pride Day!

Graduate Profile gives us, at EJMS, the chance to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of our students as they sharpen real world skills that extend well beyond the classroom!
Yesterday, Mrs. Martin’s students worked on the Graduate Profile of Communication by presenting their summer reflection to their peers! ☀️🕶️

The only thing better than a good book is sharing a good book!
Jessamine County schools is partnering with Care Council for a book drive through the month of September to show just how true that is!
We are asking for gently-used children's books to redistribute to our primary students, with dropoff locations at Central Office and Jessamine County School libraries. Let's come together, as a community, so we can make sure every home can experience the joys of reading! 📚

A reminder that our annual Block Party Open House is tomorrow evening from 5:30-7:00! This is an outdoor event that is a great opportunity to meet your child's teachers and tour the building if you are interested. There will be a Charleston meeting for 7th grade families attending that trip at 6pm in the library.
Yes, it will be hot! Please be sure to bring water and dress as comfortably as possible! We will have hot dogs, chips, and water available, as well as the cafeteria will be open for a cooling spot, but it's always a good idea to come prepared.
There will be additional vendors that will have food to purchase if you are interested.
We look forward to seeing you in the bus loop!
