In an effort to ensure Jessamine County students have the high-quality resources needed to compete and thrive in a global economy, our middle school English teachers have spent countless hours piloting highly-rated English curriculums this year. The group focused on choosing a curriculum that highlights rigorous and engaging texts, incorporates research around the science of reading, provides differentiation to meet the needs of all students, and is aligned to Kentucky Academic Standards. The committee will be recommending HMH Into Literature. Below are links with information about this program. Please take a moment to view the brief video and read the introduction letter. In addition, you will find information to look at a student account and a form where we ask that you leave any feedback you might have for our committee. If you would like further information, please reach out to Dr. Neely Traylor, Director of Secondary Schools, neely.traylor@jessamine.kyschools.us.

To kickoff Sources of Strength week, today our Peer Leaders ventured over to Red Oak Elementary to teach the 5th graders all about Sources of Strength. Their message to students was that protective factors are all around us, and we can lean on those supports when needed! They were so excited to share this message, and are looking forward to our celebration on Friday at the District Wide Color Run from 6:00-8:00 PM. Don’t forget, tomorrow we’re wearing yellow or green to promote Positive Friends and Mentors! 💛💚

What better a way to spend your Spring Break then planning your trophy winning matball team?!?!

If you are planning to participate in the matball tournament this year (on May 1st), your team needs to be formed and entry fees ($10) paid for by April 17th. That gives you only two weeks from TODAY!!

If you have any questions or need to find a coach, reach out to Mrs. Becknell and she will help you find a team/coach.

Hello EJMS Family and Friends -

We had a great dance on Friday - a huge shoutout to the PTO and especially all of our parent chaperones, we could not do this without you! We hope to see everyone back in our building this evening for our annual Student Showcase from 5:30 - 7:00. It's going to be a great time for students to share their achievements and talents with a chance to hear from some graduating eighth graders, see what's been happening in classrooms, and even enjoy some live perfiormances.

We've got even more in store for this last week before spring break. Check it out in this week's edition of our weekly update. Have a great week and a wonderful spring break!
