This week is Kentucky Safe Schools Week, and this morning some of our Sources of Strength Peer Leaders attended the Safe Schools Week Kick Off. This included a proclamation signing at JCTC Central with many of our Jessamine County community partners invested in the safety of our students. We are so thankful for those dedicated to school safety, and are so proud of our students for their efforts here at EJMS to make our school a safer and better place each day!
Our East and West Middle School students are advocating for- and promoting their Code Red Mental Health Safety Plans, dressed in Red for our Code Red Spirit Day. CODE RED is an acronym-based, universal safety planning intervention to help individuals navigate a crisis before it peaks. The acronym stands for CO-ntact, DE-lay decisions, RE-lax, and D-istract.

Hello EJMS Community - We hope everyone had a great weekend after our short week. This week at EJMS is jam packed! It's KY School Safety Week, so each day has a theme and a color or outfit to wear with the theme. Be sure to check out the weekly calendar for what to wear when. We also have our students signing the KY School Safety Pledge on Friday. Speaking of signing up, we would love to have parent representatives on our school committees. Each day, students will participate in daily Community Circles to explore elements of school safety, mental health, and supportive relationships; building up to our school-wide Safe Schools Pledge on Friday!

6th grade tryouts are now set for September 18th! 7th and 8th grade tryouts will still be on September 19th as originally communicated.
Please remember, all players must have an up-to-date physical uploaded into Final Forms in order to be eligible for tryouts.

Throughout the month of September EJMS is highlighting this essential pillar of our Graduate Profile, as we work side-by-side with our students to help them develop skills that expand well beyond our walls.
Students have a chance to be recognized as one of our Students of the Month by demonstrating strong work ethic all month long!
