Our 3rd Annual 6th Grade Locker Jam event will be right around the corner once school starts! As you’re doing your back-to-school shopping, be on the lookout for fun locker accessories and decorations. Just make sure anything you purchase is removable and won’t damage lockers.
This has quickly become one of our favorite homegrown traditions—a fun way to welcome our newest middle schoolers to the building and help set the stage for a great year ahead. We’ll share more details closer to the start of the school year, but we wanted to give everyone a head start on finding those perfect locker accessories and decorations. 💙💚🐆
Check out a few photos from the past two years for some inspiration from our upperclassmen Jaguars! 📸

I have a wonderful family that means everything to me, my husband, Chad, my daughter Lexie, and my son Zane. We’re also looking forward to welcoming a sweet granddaughter, Maebrie, this fall!
In my free time, I love spending time with my family, trying new foods, traveling, and enjoying life with my dogs. I’m so excited to be part of the team and can’t wait for a great year ahead!

It might be America's birthday, but we are too busy celebrating one of our amazing counselors! Happy Birthday Mrs. White!

Not new to EJMS, but in a new role...let's hear it for Mr. Bodle!
Hi! My name is David Bodle and I am thrilled to continue my teaching journey at East Middle! I started my education career at Rosenwald Elementary as the MSD teacher and spent last year as an Instructional Assistant here at East. I love the community and students of East and cannot wait to begin my new role as your STEAM teacher for the upcoming school year. Prior to joining the East Middle team, I spent a number of years working for Cincinnati Children's Hospital. I'm an Asbury grad, a big Bengals fan (Who Dey!) and love spending time in the outdoors. I am incredibly excited to foster a sense of curiosity and creativity in our students as we explore the different aspects of STEAM. Can't wait to meet more of you all this upcoming school year!

EJMS Junior National Betas were thrilled to represent our chapter and our school at the national competition in Nashville, TN last weekend. We loved seeing Nora Pickerill and Grace Heffelbower as premier performers at the opening assembly. Our trio performers, Nora, Grace, and Jo Vogel ,sang, signed and danced their hearts out during the trio variety performance competition. Congratulations to Sofiia Piniak who won fourth place for on-site painting with her beautiful still life picture. #proudtoroar #juniorbeta
Let's hear it for another new staff member, Mr. Paulus!
Hello, my name is Brennan Paulus and I am excited to begin my career at EJMS! My beautiful new wife and I are moving to Kentucky from Alabama! I completed my undergrad at Samford University and will finish my Masters degree at Auburn by end of summer. I will be teaching social studies for the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. I am honored by the opportunity to work with the students of EJMS and hope to instill a love for history in each of them. Personally, I love sports and cannot wait to cheer on the many teams of EJMS this year. Go Jags!

Hello! My name is Billie Mulcahy, and I am excited to be joining the team as one of the MSD Instructional Assistants. I have a strong passion for working with students in MSD programs and am looking forward to supporting our students as they learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
I come to this position from HSBC in Jessamine County, where I gained valuable experience working with students with diverse needs. I am also currently completing my Learning and Behavior Disorders (LBD) Certification, which has further strengthened my commitment to special education and student success.
Being a Jaguar is nothing new to me. My family has been part of the East Jessamine community for many years, and now I am excited to officially join the team. My goal is to help students become the very best Jaguars they can be, both academically and personally.
My husband and I have been married for 30 years, and together we have been blessed with three wonderful boys, all of whom have attended or will attend East Jessamine. Our family is deeply connected to this community, and I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the students and families of East.
I look forward to building relationships, encouraging student growth, and being part of such an amazing school family.
💙💚 Go Jaguars! 💙💚
