Sources of Strength Peer Leaders from across the district were recognized tonight at the JCS Board Meeting. These leaders represent themselves and so many more who foster kindness, compassion, and trustworthiness in their schools and among their peers. They are true leaders, and have a special skill of advocating for others. Our very own East Middle leaders present at the meeting tonight were 7th grade students, Tiffany Long and Lee Williams. We are so proud of all of our Peer Leaders for the work they do to make our schools a kinder place ♥️

Did you know that EJMS iReady Reading was 5th in the state for highest median growth at mid-year? What an amazing accomplishment for our scholars! Our teachers and students have worked so hard this year and we are beyond proud and excited to celebrate this amazing accomplishment! #proudtoroar 💙💚

Look what our students have built together! The Trusted Adult Wall in front of our school is now filled with names of the caring adults our students identified that they can count on — from parents and family members to teachers, coaches, and neighbors. This powerful visual shows just how important connection and trust are in their lives. As parents and caregivers, you play a huge role in helping kids feel supported, seen, and safe. Take a moment today to ask your child: “Who are the trusted adults in your life?” It’s a great way to open the door for meaningful conversations and strengthen those vital connections.

Our Sources of Strength Color Run would not have been possible without the amazing collaboration of so many dedicated people and groups across our district. A huge shout-out to Betsy Montgomery and the East Middle Counseling Team for their vision and leadership bringing us into our 4th annual event We're grateful for the enthusiastic support of the East Jessamine Staff and PTO, the inspiring Sources of Strength team leads from across the district, our incredible Peer Leaders, and our valued community partners. Together we are building strength and spreading positivity throughout our community through the 8 SOS pillars at the heart of the program: Family Support, Positive Friends, Mentors, Healthy Activities, Generosity, Spirituality, Physical Health, and Mental Health.

Hello EJMS Family and Friends - Welcome back from spring break! We hope that everyone had a wonderful week away from school - whether that was relaxing at home or vacationing with your loved ones. We've got another great week ahead with spring sports throughout and our annual color run this Friday evening. This is also the time of year that our district asks for parent and family feedback regarding your experiences at our school. Please be sure to fill that out to share your voice at this link. You'll find more information about this in the newsletter and coming home with your child this week. Have a great one! https://secure.smore.com/n/hm1ux
