Learning doesn't stop at the classroom door--- it's all around us! Mrs. Cook's class learned about how the physical environment influences people to migrate, and the importance of natural resources! Great job engaging your students, Mrs. Cook! #proudtoroar 🐆

Sock it to Drugs! Our students got creative and showed their support for a drug-free future by decorating socks with powerful slogans! Each pair is a piece of wearable art, spreading awareness and positivity. Together, we can make a statement against drug and alcohol abuse! 💪✨ Thank you Ms. Metoyer and Ms. Jones for making this happen and for teaching our students the power of saying no to drugs and alcohol. You make us #proudtoroar!

Hello EJMS Family and Friends - Have you noticed the trees changing colors? It seems like it's become fall almost overnight. We're thrilled for the (slightly) cooler weather and have some fun evening events planned to take advantage of that including this week's much-anticipated East Middle Football Tailgate. We hope that y'all will come join us for that Wednesday evening at the East High football field for some food and fun and to cheer on our Jaguars. It's also 8th grade night for the girls' basketball team on Friday and spirit week all week. Be sure to dress to impress with a theme for each day. Starting with comfy pajama day today! Check out these events and so much more in this week's edition of the Jaguar Weekly. https://secure.smore.com/n/nr4q2

Mrs. Marksberry's classes began their Nutrition & Food unit this week! 6th grade did a MyPlate webquest and food sort, 7th grade learned about MyPlate through rotation stations, and 8th grade learned about digestion with research! They created a 2D model with playdough , and wrote a creative story of the digestive process from the perspective of food! How fun?! Thank you Mrs. Marksberry for finding creative and fun ways to engage students! #proudtoroar
