Snowie Ice available for purchase on Friday!
Hello EJMS Family and Friends -
We've had a great weekend with an exciting matball tournament, the Greenhouse sale, and the Beta spring lock-in. It's been busy in our building! This week we have a lot going on again. It's our next to last week of school and we aren't slowing down yet!
It's Teacher Appreciation week as well as our last few days of state testing, and at the end of the week we'll recognize our 8th graders as they move onto high school. We hope to see you at EJMS this week! In this week's edition, you'll also find an opportunity to share your voice on what's great and what can improve about our school and our parent and family outreach. Please complete the TItle 1 survey found in this newsletter and on fliers your students will bring home.

5th grade families: we are excited to welcome our newest group of jaguars to East Middle next year. We hope you can join us for a parent night on Tuesday, May 7th beginning at 6:00 PM in the EJMS gym.
Congratulations to Tyson Duke, who set a school record AND qualified for state in the high jump.
The combination of Tyson Duke, Jacobi Watts, Chris Burns, Isaiah Denny, and Preston Hibbard set school records in the 4x100m Relay and 4x200m Relay.
Go Jags!
Keep up the good work!
Thanks to Ms. B and Mr. Mitchell for outstanding choir and band concerts last week! What a great display of our Jaguars' artistic skills!
Students! It's time to show what you know!
Hello EJMS Family and Friends -
What a great week we had at EJMS last week - there were sports, there was music, there was school spirit, there was some pep, and a fun run to end it all! We are excited about the week ahead as well with more athletic matches including our EJMS annual matball tournament on Friday. We are so proud of all that our students have done and learned this school year and know that they will show what they know and how much they've grown during state testing beginning this week. We hope to see you at EJMS soon - there's a lot to come out for! Check it all out in this week's edition of the Jaguar Weekly.

What a great end to a fun Spirit Week! We wrapped up the good times with a pep rally to get us fired up for KSA testing, which starts next Wednesday. We know our students are ready to show what they know!
You know you have a good principal when your staff has him cloned!
Tomorrow is the big day! Don’t miss the EJMS Family Night Color Run this Friday! If you’re not into running, that’s okay! There’s something for everybody… lawn games, food trucks, face painting, bracelet making, karaoke and good times together! The first 100 to arrive (and probably more!) will get a free T-shirt, designed by your Sources of Strength peer leaders 💚💙🤍
Here is a chance to try out Guard for yourself at this Summer Kick Off Experience Camp on May 23!
Tryouts for girls b-ball are coming up!
We had two great visits with the 5th graders from two of our feeder schools, Red Oak and Warner, last week! Our newest Jags were able to hear our band and choir, get a tour of the school, hear more about their middle school schedule, and learn all the different ways to get involved! Families, mark your calendars for May 7 for your turn to come in.

Meet our Dance Team Coach!
Hello! My name is Mckenzie Banta. I teach 6th grade writing, and I’m so excited to coach our dance team for the ‘24-‘25 school year. Years ago, I tried out for the EJMS dance team as a fifth grader and had a full 7 year dance career. I met my best friend, learned about what it means to be apart of a team, and made so many unforgettable memories. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to continue to support our Jaguars from the sidelines! Go Jags! 💙💚
Dear EJMS Family and Friends -
We had a great weekend with eighth grade semiformal and then EJMS Oscars with our teachers (huge thanks to PTO for both). We hope that you had a great weekend as well. We're looking forward to another fun spirit week this week so check the calendar for what students can wear each day to participate. We have band and choir concerts this week, plenty of athletic events, and the Sources of Strength Color Run that we hope all of our families will come out for on Friday. Check out this week's Jaguar Weekly for more information about this and other events at school.
