We really enjoyed having Dewayne Smithers, youth motivational speaker, to East Middle yesterday. He shared with our students the importance of their choices and managing their emotions in a healthy way. Ask your student about it!

Congratulations to Beckett for winning our attendance drawing and a gift bag from Canes. We had all students who had no unexcused absences entered into a drawing and he was the lucky winner. Thank you to everyone who makes attending school a priority!

Go Jags! Let's see that blue and green today!

Mr. Dobie is our People's Choice recipient this month! Whether he is joking around with students or singing in the hallway or making them learn math, he's doing it in a way that is like a magnet to others and draws them to him. We all love Mr. Dobie!

Ms. Sorrell is this month's recipient of the Above and Beyond award! As one of our 6th grade team leaders and teaching science, she definitely goes the extra mile when it comes to planning engaging instruction and leading her team well. We appreciate you, Ms. Sorrell!

Ms. Banta received the Rising Star award. In her 6th grade writing class, she excels at procedures and high expectations while building quality relationships with her students! Congrats, Ms. Banta!

Our next teacher recognition goes to Mrs. Tidei, the recipient of our All Day, Every Day award! Mrs. Tidei never gives less than 100% and is always looking for effective ways to engage students in her science classroom!
