Yesterday our 8th graders got to experience a dose of the real world at the 4H sponsored Reality Store! Big thanks to everyone who ran a booth and supported our students through navigating paying bills, buying a car, taxes, and all the other real world things! #proudtoroar

As a Title 1 School, we are required to have every student's family sign a compact sharing the responsibilities of the school, the parents/guardians, and the students. You can review and sign that on a Google form below. We also have paper copies available in the office or to send home with your student. Whenever a student has this signed (either electronically or bringing back the paper), he or she will receive his or her choice of Takis or fruit snacks from the homeroom teacher and also be entered into a drawing for more prizes. The drawing will take place in two weeks on Friday, Nov. 8. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdV-HxsAHmnZMKXWbO0dguQ7cuJGxA-4ubd_pN56rXnfcf4tg/viewform

Bus 1 for the 7th Grade Charleston Trip is completely full! As of now, we need an additional 13 people to register for the Charleston Trip in order to fill the second bus and ensure the cost does not change. We extended the deadline, but didn't meet the needed amount in time. Pending those 13 spots being filled, we will open the registration window to pay the deposit and confirm your spot. If those 13 spots do not fill, unfortunately, those on the waitlist won't be able to attend. For more information, please reach out to Mrs. Areaux!

Hello EJMS Family and Friends, Welcome to another fun and spirited week at EJMS. This week is School Safety Week with our theme of Level Up for Kindness. Check out the newsletter for what will be happening with daily themes. You'll also find a link to our School's Title 1 presentation (first shared at the Family Celebration Night last week) as well as a link to the School/Family Compact. We need this filled out for every student. This year, you can do that through a quick Google form (also linked in the newsletter). There's much more that you'll find in store in this week's EJMS Jaguar Weekly. Enjoy! https://secure.smore.com/n/2rgvk

From Mrs. Jones: "In our Health class, we had an eye-opening experience experimenting with fatal vision goggles while driving a golf cart with our SRO, Officer Kemp. The goggles simulated the impairments caused by alcohol consumption, allowing us to understand how even small amounts can significantly affect our coordination and reaction times. As we navigated the golf cart through cones, it became clear how dangerous impaired driving can be. This hands-on activity heightened our awareness of alcohol and reinforced the importance of making responsible choices to ensure safety for ourselves and others." Great job providing real world applications and experiences for our students, Mrs. Jones! You make us #proudtoroar
